Treatment types

Cranial Osteopathy

Using the natural movements of the body to find areas of tension and restriction, then releasing them with gentle pressure and articulation, usually through the cranial bones and the sacrum. Its gentleness makes it well suited to the aches and pains of pregnancy, mothers and babies.

Structural Osteopathy

Using articulation, manipulation and massage to free up restricted joints, relax tense muscles and improve posture and alignment, with the aim of easing painful musculoskeletal symptoms and supporting healthy movement.

Massage

Deep tissue, sports, soft tissue and lymphatic massage techniques used to release tension and improve fluid movement around the body to support health and recovery.

What to expect

Your initial appointment lasts about an hour, with follow-ups around 45 minutes. At your first visit we take a full medical history, then carry out an examination, usually including musculoskeletal and neurological tests and active and passive movements, to reach a working diagnosis.

You may be asked to undress a little to help with this, though we can work around any clothing you prefer to keep on. If so, please wear loose, flexible clothing so a full examination is still possible.

Consent

By law, you give your full and informed consent to both examination and treatment. You'll complete an online consent form when booking your initial appointment (or sign one in the clinic if that's easier), and you'll be asked to agree verbally to any treatment before it goes ahead. You can decline any technique you'd prefer not to have used.
